Gulf Inland Marine Services was founded in 1987 by Landen “Snooky” Alexander and Luther “Junior” Hunt. They combined their many years of River experience and “know how” to focus on providing personal and professional agency services to vessel owners and charterers on the Mississippi River and surrounding ports.

Our original office was established in Gonzales, Louisiana, which was then a small town within the growing River Parishes region between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. After 30 years, Gonzales is now one of the fastest growing cities in Louisiana, and Gulf Inland is one of the leading vessel agencies in the State. We have grown to a staff of 21 who bring together over 300 years of collective experience in the marine industry.

Gulf Inland is still family owned and operated. We take great pride in continuing to provide the same local expertise and dedication that our fathers founded the company on.
